Summary: A first bracelet Brazilian Andre Akkari for (Event # 43); a second bracelet for Rep Porter (Event # 44); 11th place for Jonathan 'Da_Engineer' Driscoll (Event # 45); a day to forget for Duhamel and a duel to the finish between Chris Moorman and Joe Ebanks (Event # 46), Michael Mizrachi (without arborder logo Full Tilt Poker) is depriving a bracelet by Owais Amed (Event # 47) Francois 'Roo_400' Billiard longs for a bracelet (Event # 48), an impressive list of surviving (Event # 49), a tough day for Quebec (Event # 50) and a solid performance in an event Gabriel Alarie paralell to the WSOP. Here is a summary of the June 28 and 29 at the WSOP 2011.
Event # 43 - No-Limit Hold'em $ 1,500 - A great comeback for the Brazilian Andre Akkari
The players were back to finish their duel, while the U.S. had a generous Nachman Berlin ahead of Brazilian Andre Akkari.
Driven by the encouragement of one of the biggest crowds of the WSOP, Akkari was able to parlay his mat and ultimately snatch victory Nachman Berlin.
Andre Akkari wins his first WSOP bracelet and finds richest $ 675,117, while Nachman Berlin will instead consolation for second place and $ 419,173.
Event 44 - Seven Card Razz $ 2,500 - Second bracelet Rep Porter.
Again, both players were back for a duel to the finish. Unlike before the event, players had little leeway as the blinds were already 50k/100k (with 10k ante!), While Rep Porter had just over 1 million in chips ( Rep Porter), while Stephen Su was 1.65m. Both players had therefore only between 5 and 10 big blinds big blinds each.
Ultimately, it is Rep. Porter has been able to get away with top honors, winning his second World Series bracelet (he had won in 2008 in a hold'em event) and the sum of $ 210,615 .
Event # 45 - No-Limit Hold'em $ 1,000 - Jonathan 'Da_Engineer' Driscoll finished 11th.
After two days completely dominated the tournament, Jonathan Driscoll (Da_Engineer) was back with only 20 other players to determine a winner. Things are unfortunately not go as wanted Quebec
First victim of a cooler in the first moments when he finds himself with T7 against the KT Antonio Esfandiari TT5 on a flop, will Da_Engineer first lost this advantage chips he used particularly well during the entire the tournament. So he had to play a little tighter game.
It is ultimately the same Esfandiari who has eliminated Driscoll. In a game at least questionable Esfandiari, Esfandiari revived UTG to 45,000 chips, followed by a call button. On the big blind decides Da_Engineer "squeezer" Esfandiari. The latter, after a moment's reflection, decided to call the bet Driscoll, while the player on the fold button.
Da_Engineer shows a KJo, whereas the surprise of many, Esfandiari has low A3o. No improvement for both players, while "ace high" Magician Esfandiari wins the "high king" of Da_Engineer ... a disappointing elimination Jonathan Driscoll, who lack a second time for the official final table, finishing in 11th place ($ 26,192). Antonio "the magician" Esfandiari has not been able to rejoice very long, so it was removed a few moments later in 7th place.
This is ultimately Kenneth Griffin, who won the game (Griffin was with Jonathan Driscoll, the other player with the most dominant in the first two days). Griffin was able to get rid of the French Jean-Luc Marais during the duel, thereby depriving France of a fourth bracelet.
Event # 46 - Championship No-Limit Hold'em Short-Handed $ 10,000 - Duhamel eliminated out of paying seats and a duel to the finish between Chris Moorman and Joe Ebanks
This Championship Hold'em 6-max is definitely forget to Quebec. While 7 of 8 will join Quebec was quickly eliminated in the first day, the only survivor (Jonathan Duhamel) has not been able to win a single pot on the second day and had to go rather encourage his friend Jonathan Driscoll Tournament # 45.
The second day is finally finished with just 22 players remaining, the French Bertrand 'Elky' Grospellier had a chance to get their hands on a second bracelet this year as he ended the day in 3rd place. Benjamin Lamb was also recently launched on surviving the day # 2.
Although they have been victims of the third day, however, it was profitable for Ben Lamb and Elky: Lamb was able to reach 12th place ($ 56,140), while ElkY was the last player eliminated Day # 3, finishing in 3rd place ($ 447,074).
There are only two players who will return today to finish this duel: Joe Ebanks (with 11m in chips) and Chris Moorman (with 3.2m). Needless to declare victory too soon for Joe Ebanks: with blinds only 50k/100k, there is still great scope for both players.
Event 47 - Omaha / Seven Card Stud Hi-Low at $ 2500 - William 'SixZeros' Rivet victim of the second day.
Quebec Guillaume 'SixZeros' Rivet was one of 201 players who returned for the second day. Unfortunately for him, the second day was fatal and unfortunately had to leave the tournament without being able to reach the paying places.
The day was particularly beneficial for Michael 'The Grinder' Mizrachi, who was able to finish the second day in top rankings. The eyes were therefore turned to him at the beginning yesterday, the third day. With the events that occurred on Full Tilt Poker (suspension of their license), many wondered if Mizrachi would wear the colors of Full Tilt Poker (as he has done so since the early WSOP). It is rather a Mizrachi no logo Full Tilt Poker which is presented in day # 3. Rather he wore a cap PokerChan.com, an iPhone app that allows players to manage their poker bankroll.
Despite a strong performance Mizrachi, the Grinder had unfortunately losing to Owais Ahmed, who has been able to turn the corner after starting the duel with Mizrachi with a 2:1 disadvantage in terms of token.
Ahmed claimed his first World Series bracelet in addition to $ 255,959.
Event # 48 - No Limit Hold'em $ 1500 - François 'Roo_400' Billiard longs for a bracelet!
2713 Entries for another strong popular Hold'Em No Limit event, including thirty Quebec. The day was still speedy for most of them, while only four Quebec were able to survive the first day. Their position was precarious by cons, while Jean-Christophe St-Pierre (jcstpierre) was the leader of the Quebec delegation in 180th place, followed by Francis Cardinal (232nd), François Billard (308th) and Philippe Belley (363rd) on a total of 370 players. The four Quebec were then hope to succeed to sneak into the first 270 positions to generate a profit for hope this tournament.
The second day was almost miraculous for Quebec. They have been able to enjoy the most of their short stack at the point where they were all able to reach the paying places.
This is the first leader of the Quebec delegation unfortunately had to say goodbye to his colleagues first: Jean-Christophe St-Pierre bowed first in 233rd Place ($ 2,966).
Philippe Belley, who had started the day as a player with fewer chips, has been the second to leave finishing in 167th position, outstanding performance given the few chips he had. And he won $ 3,662.
François Cardinal, he has been able to survive the top 100, before being eliminated in 76th place ($ 6,189).
The performance of the day was that of Francis Billiards (roo_400). Roo_400 was able to survive the third day. He finds himself in 6th place, with only 30 players remaining in the tournament. He is assured of $ 15,089, but a win could enrich $ 650,223.
Action resumes today and is expected to continue until only a handful of players.
Event # 49 - Limit 2-7 Triple Draw Lowball $ 2,500 -
Only Quebec Odette Tremblay (who was the first Quebec player this year to achieve a final table) participated in this tournament draw lowball, which attracted over 309 participants.
Unfortunately for Odette, she has not been able to survive the first day and had to bow quickly. Those who profited most from the first day of hostility was Jimmy Fricke, followed Eli Elezra.
While the chip leader of the day has not been able to survive to the next day (Fricke was the last player on the second day to be eliminated and finishing 14th), Eli Elezra was nevertheless able to grow his stack and retain its second place.
The hero of the day was a member of Team PokerStars pro Jason Mercier. Jason Mercier, who won earlier this year a WSOP bracelet, will have the opportunity to repeat his feat again. The party is far from over for him, he will face tough opponents including Eli Elezra, Shawn Buchanan (4 places already paid this year, including a second place in the championship HORSE), Galen Hall (winner of the 2011 PCA main event), David Bach (HORSE Championship winner to $ 50,000 in 2009), Jon Turner and Justin Bonomo.
The action starts today, and a winner should be known later in the evening.
Event # 50 - Triple Chance No-Limit Hold'em $ 5,000
Approaching the main event of the WSOP, players had last ocassion of participating in a tournament Hold'em $ 5,000. No fewer than 817 players have responded to the call, including a dozen Quebec.
The day was extremely difficult while only two of them, Jeff Hakim and Philippe 'PhilLeDingue' Boucher, were able to be part of the 297 survivors first day. They stand at the moment in the midfield (135th and 138th rank), but they have to be strong they veulet reach places charge since only the first 81 places will be able to make sure to get your hands on 9561 $.
