Here is a summary of the June 17, 2011 at the WSOP.
Event # 25 (Seven Card Stud Hi-Low 8-or-better) - Sexton will have to wait wait
Both players were back to complete the headsup they had started a day earlier. Chris Viox was ahead 1:3 against Mike Sexton, who had the opportunity to win a second bracelet in the same event he won 22 years earlier.
Unfortunately for Sexton, no miracle happened: Viox quickly lose more than half of the already short stack Sexton. It was nevertheless able to double and even increase his chips to nearly a million (against the Viox 1.6m), but after one hour of play, Chris Viox was able to get rid of the popular Mike Sexton and win his first World Series bracelet.
Event # 26 (no limit Hold'Em - 6max to $ 2500) - The Ukrainian Oleksii Kovalchuk wins.
Anthony Ruberto was in the lead at the start of the third day and he knew to take his chips to reach the final table. Unfortunately for him, he was the first player eliminated from the final table when he was the victim of a rare bad beat which made a huge noise in the room. Indeed, Anthony Ruberto and Olesksii Kovalchuk were all in while Kovalchuk situation was precarious to say the least: Ruberto had a set of valet, while his opponent had a set of 4 players found themselves all-in on. the turn, having put much of their chips on the flop.
The Ukrainian had to rely solely on the dealer to turn his heart 4, the only card that can help Kovalchuk to avoid elimination. To the surprise of the room, it is this card that the dealer turned, pushing Kolvalchuk in the first place and leaving Ruberto with a short stack of 550,000. Moments later, Ruberto was removed by a square ... again! This time, the pair of King Ruberto has found against the pair of two Ionel Anton. On a 2-9-8 flop, Ruberto is believed in good position and the two players found themselves all-in on the flop. Ruberto had to rely on his two remaining outs. The turn brought another 9 and the river brought the last 2 package, giving quads Anton and thereby eliminating Ruberto.
The two executioners Ruberto will enjoy this momenthum to find later headsup. It is ultimately the Ukrainian who has had the upper hand, won the bracelet and $ 689,739 USD.
