Result EPT Tallinn: Arnaud 'Frenchkiss' Mattern spent nearly write a page of history

The European Poker Tour PokerStars 2010 Tallinn Estonia has just ended. 420 players took their seats at the event, held over 5 days. Among these, Arnaud Frenchkiss' Mattern, formerly a member of the French team Winamax is now a member of Team PokerStars Pro France.

arnaud_mattern_frenchkiss_ept_tallinn_team_pokerstars.jpg Arnaud had the opportunity to be the first person in history to raise two EPT titles. Over the tournament progressed, his chances materialize: He found himself on the final table this morning being the chip leader: 3,700,000 chips on 12.6 million total chips, nearly 30% of the total chips! With only eight players remaining, Arnaud continued to increase his stack and remove himself some players. Thus, Arnaud personally took out of the tournament Bassam Elnajjar in 8th place, then Mikko Jaatinen in 5th place.

After losing a few pots, Arnaud pulled up his stack so that there were only three players to the point of almost meet again with the chip lead. Arnaud Mattern was then strongly favorite, his two opponents are practically unknown pure: Russian Konstantin Bilyauer (no significant results) and American Kevin Stani (whose only result is a 127th place in the 2010 WSOP main event)

It was unfortunately a bad beat which eliminated Arnaud and his chances of writing a history of the EPT page. Hand against the American Kevin Stani, was as follows:

With the blinds at 40k/80k, Stani raised to 200k SB. BB, Arnaud took a moment to re-launched what seemed to be a little less than 600k, but even before he heard the account, Stani pushed all-in and called Arnaud quickly!

Arnaud and his Qh-Qc were confident of winning this hand, being in advance 81% against the 3c-3s Stani.

The flop caused no problem Arnaud: 2h-Kc-5h: Arnaud Mattern was now ahead at nearly 90%.

The turn was another story: a disastrous 3h. Still, it was not finished for Mattern he had 11 outs to beat now Stani (9 outs gave him a color and two outs gave him a bigger set!). By cons, Arnaud now increased from 90% favorite to underdog in a less than 23%!

The river was a 9c ... and it was finished Arnaud Mattern and hope to be the first player in history to win two EPT titles.

So Arnaud finished 3rd, with an amount of € 160,000 and it is finally Kevin Stani, who eliminated Arnaud Mattern, who won the tournament and an amount of € 400,000 after more than half past one game headsup against the Russian Konstantin Bilyauer.
