2011 WSOP - David Barter, Marc-André Ladouceur and Marc-Etienne McLaughlin in the top 50 - summary July 14

wsop-2011-bracelet1866 players were back to play on day 3 of the main event $ 10,000 for WSOP 2011. Victims have quickly followed, to a little more than 1000 people had to see their dream of becoming champion of the world ending abruptly, out of paid places.

The 28 remaining québécois, unfortunately, will not all unable to avoid elimination.

Christopher 'd0r1t0s' McClung, who had been able to stay in the top of the standings during the first two days, was one of the victims of the day 3. After losing a big pot while its circulation made him favorite to 60%, he then lost a 50-50 situation, then another 'cooler'... so quickly (!) and Christopher McClung found himself on the sidelines.

Jean-Christophe 'Ahmad' Ferreira has unfortunately suffered the same fate: part of the 65th place, he was not able to survive this fateful day 3.

Gabriel 'gabygaby' swell-Morin, Julien 'jaedar' Fauteux, Sean Grover, Marc-Étienne 'Marke' Blais, Sebastien 'rockstar' Roy, Stéphane Fournier, François 'greg29' hoe, Carter Swidler, Derek Lerner, Marc-André Payette, Jean-François Talbot, Jean-François Bouchard, and Martin 'Giggy' Fournier-Giguère were also forced to join 'd0r1t0s' and 'Ahmad'.

28 Quebecers of the day 3, it is therefore more than 13. And among them, some have been able to shine!
This is particularly the case for Canadians David Barter and Marc-André Ladouceur. While they left very far (Barter had only 99 800 chips while Ladouceur was leaving the 1253rd rank with 65,000 chips), they now find themselves at the top of the bunch: David Barter is the 4th largest with 917 500 (he has been able to multiply its carpet by more than 9 x!) and Marc-André Ladouceur is the 17th largest (there multiply its carpet by more than 10 x!) overall.

Marc-Étienne ' General Irish, McLaughlin, meanwhile, will improve her rank to be the 39th largest with 593 500 chips (he had started the day ranked 99th with 248 500 chips).

Here is the ranking of Quebecers after the 3rd day of play:
David Barter (4th - 917 500)
Marc-André Ladouceur(17th - 693 000)
Marc-Étienne 'General Irish' McLaughlin (39th - 593 500)
Shawn Hattem(182nd - 346 000)
Jonathan 'KiwiKaki' Garneau (195th - 330 000)
Patrick-James 'pjamez' McNamara (250th - 294,000)
Philippe 'Takechip' of Auteuil (354th - 232,500)
Patrick 'patnitrof' Fortin (444 - 192,000)
Terry Hobbs (446 - 191,500)
Ludovic 'theplux' Lachance (470e - 180 200)
Christos Arvanitis (561st - 143,000)
Arthur Walker (603e - 129,500)
Isabelle Mercier (767th - 79 000)

The action will resume today, while there are only 852 players. Players will quickly approach the bubble, but it will probably be rather long to burst so that several players will have to eye the number of remaining players rather than their cards and that the tournament will fall in mode 'hand by hand' in order to avoid that some players intentionally delay the game. Once the bubble exploded, 693 surviving players will put the hand on a minimum of $ 19 359. For the moment, it is American Patrick Poirier , who is the leader in chips.

There is also only one player at the final table of the WSOP 2010: Joseph Cheong (one who has lost the biggest pot of history against none other than Jonathan Duhamel, thus ending 3rd last year!)is now in the 117th place.

Phil Hellmuth and Benjamin Lamb, both players having the best results during the World Series of Poker this year, are still in contention: Lamb is the 174th ranked with 354 500 chips while Hellmuth will be hard to do since he has had a difficult day and finds himself the 770th ranked with 77,000 chips.

Good luck 13 Quebecers still in the running!
