According to the Wall Street Journal , 10 applications (which that of Texas Hold'em is part) have sent personal data to advertisers and other companies specialized in the collection and analysis of such information, even for users with the highest privacy settings.

According to the Wall Street Journal, personal information from Facebook members who used applications Texas HoldEm, FrontierVille, and FarmVille to name only few, have been sent to a minimum of 25 advertisers and other companies involved in the collection of data and personal information.

Facebook says he was informed of the situation, but denounced the "exaggerations" of the situation: "knowledge of identity does not allow anyone access to the personal information of the user without their explicit consent. Nevertheless, we are ensuring that even the users ID inadvertently transmission is prevented and that all applications are in accordance with our policy."

Once more, the confidentiality of the information is questioned on Facebook that represents an excellent platform for advertisers with its 500 million active members of whom half are connecting at least once per day. The problem here is not only that information disclosed to third parties, but these parties subsequently follow to track activities in lines of Internet users. Note that these practices are contrary to the rules of Facebook. Facebook applications are the beauty of the social network, but they are also a danger with regard to the protection of personal information. That is what the it consultant, John Jean, explains in this video into two parts (very technical, I must warn you)
