10 June '12 - What an exciting day!

wsop2012_resultat If you do not follow the WSOP yesterday, you missed a day. First, Phil Ivey has found a hair of winning a WSOP bracelet; Then, Phil Hellmuth Jr. added a bracelet (twelfth!) to his collection. And finally, the performance of Quebecers, including Philippe 'PhilLeDingue' Boucher (event # 20), Christopher McClung (event # 22) and Eric Cloutier & Jason Lavallée (Event # 23). Not to mention Luc Campeau and Patrick Rinfret who also qualified for the second day in Event # 22. Here are the results and summary of this exciting day June 10 at the WSOP 2012.

Event # 17 - Pot-Limit Hold'em Championship ($ 10,000) - Phil Ivey goes well close to winning a bracelet.
There three days, 179 players showed up to take part in the Championship Pot-Limit Hold'em at $ 10,000. At 13h local time, the Amazon Room revived this time with the last 17 finalists.

Cary Katz (you see her again in the tournament The Big One) was back with the shortest stack. He will not waste time, pushing all-in on the first hand.

David Benyamine was also one of the rugs, and he was the next victim, ending in 16 th place. Chris Klodnicki (15th), Patrick Cronin (14th), Jeff Tims (13th), Antonio Esfandiari (12th), Steve Landfish (11th) and Ryan Julius were the latest victims before reaching the final table.

Hoyt Corkins had taken care to bring with him his cigar to the final table. He will not have time to celebrate a very long time, since he was the first finalist to be eliminated. Daniel Weinman and Matt go Marafioto subsequently join Corkins on track.

Gradually, the crowd then piled the eyes were on Phil Ivey. Then we fell five players due to the elimination of Shaun Deeb; Four players with that of the French Manual Bevand; Three players with that of Alexander Venovsky; Then two players with the departure of Ali Eslami. Only then remained more than Phil Ivey and Andy Frankenberger. Both players then were virtually tied in chips.

Unfortunately for Ivey, who had a golden chance to win numerous propbets (a bracelet would have won him 1 million in addition to the $ 445,899 winner), Andy Frankenberger came to spoil the festivities. After two hours of play, Frankenberger harvest the prestigious bracelet (his second in two years) against which many consider to be the best player on the planet.

Event # 18 - Seven Card Razz $ 2,500 - Phil Hellmuth Jr. improves his record and now holds 12 WSOP bracelets.
With only 18 players remaining and Phil Hellmuth Jr very close to being the chip leader, the day promised to be exciting. Last year, Phil Hellmuth went close three times to add a bracelet on his own record ... but every time he finished in 2nd place!

This year he will finally say mission accomplished: after capturing the top position on the final table, Hellmuth has never really had to look behind him. He finally found a duel against Don Zewin with nearly five times the fees Zewin. We would then have believed that headsup be settled quickly, but Zewin was able to give a strong opposition to Hellmuth, he was able to return virtually tied with Hellmuth after just ten minutes!

Hellmuth was fortunately able to regain its rhythm, gradually reducing the stack of chips in front Zewin. After half past two duel, Hellmuth was relieved to add a 12th bracelet his collection. I bet he had a lot more to the eye this 12th bracelet the $ 182,793 that accompanied it.

Event # 19 - No-Limit Hold'em $ 1500 - Philippe Boucher (PhilLeDingue) to a final table?
There were only 262 players at the start of the second day, while two Quebecers were back: Philippe Boucher (63rd) and Derek Lerner (18 th).

The two Quebecers were able to reach the paying places. Lerner, for his part, was eliminated moments later at 223 th and collecting $ 2,796.

Philippe Boucher has had, meanwhile, a great day, bringing his stack of 54,200 chips with 459,000 chips while it remains now more than 19 players. PhilLeDingue is thus guaranteed at least $ 16,004, but will have an eye on the $ 559,514 awarded to the winner and added a bracelet on his wrist, who won a bracelet at the WSOPE 2011.

Good luck to Philippe during the third day today starting at 16h, Quebec time.

Event # 20 - $ 5,000 Limit Hold'em - More than 17 Limit-Hold'em players, including Canadian Terrence Chan.
Say that limit hold'em tournament remained rather in the shadows; first had with Phil Ivey who found himself in headsup, then had Phil Hellmuth added a bracelet on his record. And even Quebec did not particularly follow the tournament, while our eyes were on the performance of Philippe Boucher (PhilLeDingue) in event # 19. But there was indeed a second day to Limit Hold'em tournament!

They are only 17 players left, so that the bubble has just burst. Besides the Canadian Terrence Chan in 2nd position, the other 16 remaining players are exclusively Americans.

Action resumes at 17h, Quebec time, a winner should be crowned.

Event # 21 - No-Limit Hold'em $ 1,000 - Christopher McClung and two other Quebecers spend the day # 2.

2799 tournament registrations No-Limit Hold'em $ 1,000, but less than Quebecers for the event at $ 1500. Even when they numbered 22 or Armen Afarian, Stephane Blouin, Andre Boyer, Erik Cajelais, Luc Campeau, Victor Cowen, Jonathan Driscoll (Da_Engineer), Benoit Forcier, Laurence Grondin (Lady Luck), Jason Hallée (Jayggins), Ryan Higgins, Jacques Iza, Jason Lavallee (BikiniWax), Martin Leclerc, Derek Lerner, Eric Levesque, Christopher McClung (D0r1t0s), Claire Morin, Philippe Plouffe, Charles Poirier, Patrick and David Royea Rinfret.

With 92% of players already eliminated (there are only 222 players), the day was short for many. However, three Quebecers managed to qualify for the second day and, suddenly, be sure to be among the paying seats (the last 297 survivors ensured in the amount of $ 1,839).

Although he had a horrible end of the day, Christopher McClung (D0r1t0s) is the leader among the three Quebecers temporarily occupying the 32 th with 64,400 chips. There is also Patrick Rinfret (94 th - 35 000 tokens) and Luc Campeau (130 th - 24 400 tokens).

The American Edward Locke is currently in first place with 133,200 chips. It is one of five players who have reached the milestone of 100,000 chips.

Action resumes at 16h, Quebec time where we should approach the course of the final table.

Event # 22 - Limit 2-7 Triple Draw lowball at $ 2500 - Great day for Eric Cloutier and Jason Lavallee.
Yesterday was the first tournament Triple Draw Lowball Edition 2012. 228 players have responded to the call, including Quebecers Jason Lavallée (BikiniWax) and Eric Cloutier (former QMJHL player now residing in the United States).

The two Quebecers have experienced excellent day: Eric Cloutier found provisionally 5 th, while Jason Lavallee 12 th with only 79 players remaining. However, there is still a lot of poker to be played, with only the last 24 survivors will be able to get their hands on a pot of at least $ 4,782.

The Canadian Shawn Buchanan is currently in the lead with 61,800 chips. There are also Layne Flack (11th), Jean-Robert Bellande (18th), Barry Greenstein (32nd), Huck Seed (44th), John Monnette (74th) and some other known faces among the players who will be back today.

Coming up today:
Many Quebecers to watch today include:
- PhilLeDingue the event # 19.
- Christopher McClung, Patrick and Luc Campeau Rinfret the event # 21.
- Eric Cloutier and Jason Lavallee in event # 22.

We also have the right to start another tournament Hold'em 6-max format and a Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Low.
