Therefore, this money will be redistributed to players in the form of promotions over the next 16 weeks.
To clarify on the impossibility of PokerStars to reimburse the Italian players, here is the translation of an extract from the official communiqué to that effect:
PokerStars has contacted all competent authorities and relied on legal advice from two different companies to find the best solution to reimburse the Italian players. Nevertheless, although PokerStars has been totally foreign to the management of www.fulltiltpoker.com platform, which has operated in Italy without a license issued by AAMS [the regulatory authority of the games online in Italy], there are both Full Tilt Poker gamers Italians have contravened to Italian law. Therefore, any payment made for the Italian players would be considered as a violation of the criminal law by PokerStars. As a result, PokerStars is not able to repay the Italian players to Full Tilt.
Promotions have already started (9 September) and will continue for the next 4 months.
Among the promotions, there are freerolls, bonuses in the standings for the sitNgo players, money for players from cash games and other promotions to come and clarify.
These promotions will be offered to all the Italian players of PokerStars, whether or not they have already had an account at Full Tilt Poker.
