Paul Phua lawyers reveal part of their defense

Last July, Paul Phua and Richard Yong were charged by the American authorities to be linked to Chinese triads and for organizing illegal bets on World Cup soccer.

A few months later, businessmen reveal part of their defence in court.

In their defense, their lawyers filed a motion seeking the invalidation of the main items of evidence collected by the FBI.

According to him, there has been violation of the 4th amendment of the Constitution of the United States in this case.

To return to the accusations of illegal betting, Bloomberg explained how the men attracted the suspicions of the FBI:

"The Group had drawn the suspicion of Caesars Palace teams asking an unusually high number of computers and electronic equipment. The ploy is questionable, if not illegal, according to defence lawyers. They will therefore want to demonstrate that the actions of the FBI were illegal to obtain the elements that now weigh against them. For this reason, they want the invalidation of all the evidence.

To date, 4 arrested persons have been released on bail. The hearing will take place next December.
